Common types of cooling devices used in organic fertilizer production lines

There are typically two types:

1. Rotary Cooler

The structure is similar to a rotary drum, where the wet and hot granules after granulation undergo cooling and moisture reduction.

Key Features:

The equipment is shaped like a long cylinder and has a certain inclination

Internal installation of lifting plates ensures continuous lifting and falling of the material

Utilize a blower to introduce cold air for heat exchange

It can reduce the material temperature to near room temperature (approximately 50–60°C → room temperature)

Suitable for large-scale production lines of organic fertilizers and compound fertilizers

2. Fluidized Bed Cooler

Suitable for lines with good particle flowability and high production capacity.

Features:

Higher cooling efficiency, faster temperature reduction

The equipment occupies relatively small space

There are certain requirements for particle strength, making it unsuitable for loose, easily broken organic fertilizer particles

The role of the cooling device in the production line

Reduce temperature: Prevent high-temperature particles from adhering and breaking during screening and packaging

Reduce humidity: facilitates subsequent polishing, sieving, and secondary packaging

Increase particle hardness: After cooling, the particle surface hardens, making it more resistant to breakage

Extend storage time: Prevent fertilizer from clumping and molding due to high temperatures during storage

Enhance overall production and quality stability

Working Principle of the Cooling Device

For the rotary cooler, the process is as follows:

High-temperature particles from the granulator → dryer → cooler

The air cooler blows cold air from the rear or side of the cooling machine

The material is continuously flipped by the deflector plate, ensuring thorough contact with the cooling air

Hot air is discharged from the dust removal device

After cooling, the material is discharged from the lower end of the equipment at a temperature close to room temperature

The configuration of the cooling system typically includes

Rotary Cooler (Main Equipment)

Cooling fan / Air intake device

Dust removal system (cyclone + pulse bag filter)

Transmission components such as gear reducers, idler wheels, deflector wheels, and support rings

Precautions for Using the Cooling Machine

The idler wheel, gears, and reducer require regular lubrication

The barrel inclination angle and rotational speed must be matched and cannot be adjusted arbitrarily

The sealing of feed and discharge must be intact to prevent air short-circuiting

The cold air flow should be moderate; insufficient airflow will not cool thoroughly bottom

Excessively high drying temperatures can impose stress on cooling, necessitating overall coordination

How to install it? Please note the following matters during installation:

1. First, installation and debugging must be carried out. During installation, it is essential to coordinate with the machines process flow, specifying elevation and horizontal positions. The equipment should be installed at an incline, typically with a tilt of 2-5 degrees. This inclination can be reasonably adjusted based on customer requirements.

2. The cooling equipment of the organic fertilizer machine should have evenly distributed mounting holes on the base and transmission frame of the machine, allowing it to be installed on concrete and providing a fixed function on the concrete surface.

3. After installation, debugging is required. During debugging, ensure that all components of the dryer are securely fastened after the dryer is installed. Then, conduct a no-load test run to observe whether the rotation is normal and correct. Otherwise, during the usage process, adjustments should be made to ensure the gear noise is uniform and not fluctuating between high and low.
