Transportation, storage, and cost of blended fertilizers, agricultural production structure, current state of the fertilizer market, prices of fertilizer applicators and blending equipment, etc. Additionally, various regions employ multiple blending fertilizer production techniques. With advancements in base fertilizer production capabilities, the production model for compound fertilizers has also evolved. The methods used in blended fertilizer production can be categorized as follows:

There are many methods for producing blended fertilizers, and the selection of blending equipment and production processes depends on various factors. Firstly, it depends on the current technological level of compound fertilizer production, which is influenced by advancements in science and technology as well as the production capabilities of basic fertilizers. Additionally, factors such as local and nearby base fertilizer varieties, structural composition, and production layout also play a role.

Dry Blending Process for Compound Fertilizer Equipment:

The mixing of powdered fertilizers: The mixing of powdered fertilizers is a processing method involving the combination of various basic fertilizers after crushing.

In the early stages of compound fertilizer development, blending was performed in batches using rakes, hoes, or shovels. Manual methods were still in use, especially for small-scale production. As early as the mid-20th century, the United States had already vigorously developed powdered compound fertilizers. Early powdered compound fertilizers incorporated various natural and artificial organic fertilizers, such as wood ash, fishmeal, cottonseed meal, bone meal, and the like.

After the 1950s, calcium superphosphate, heavy calcium carbonate, ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate, potassium chloride, potassium sulfate, monoammonium phosphate, and diammonium phosphate became the main components of powdered blended fertilizers. To improve soil physical properties, acidity, and alkalinity, dolomite, phosphate rock powder, peanut shells, and diatomite were added as regulators, with an annual production scale typically ranging from (1 to 5) × 10^4 tons.

During the blending process, basic raw materials such as ammonium sulfate, ammonium chloride, calcium, and potassium salts are crushed and uniformly mixed according to the formula. This is typically carried out in a mixer containing fertilizers. The mixed material is stored for several weeks to mature, allowing chemical reactions to nearly complete, before being crushed and packaged.

Superphosphate has slight ammonification to improve its physical properties and provide some nitrogen. Some Chinese factories use ammonium bicarbonate or calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer to supply nitrogen or phosphorus nutrients and enhance anti-caking.

The compound fertilizer production line consists of a complete set of processes, including computer-controlled static batching system → material hoist silo → mixing and blending → packaging scale weighing → automatic packaging and bag sealing → belt conveyor stacking.

The equipment of the blended fertilizer production line integrates batching, mixing, and packaging, making it particularly suitable for the batching and mixing of BB fertilizers. The mixed material is discharged directly into the lifting hopper. After reaching the high position, there is no diversion phenomenon during the flow process, especially when the proportions of different raw materials vary significantly. Additionally, when the fertilizer dosage is small, it can still ensure the accuracy and uniformity of the mixed material.

Direct ground feeding eliminates the need for raw materials to upgrade equipment, with a compact production line footprint. Due to its low height, it imposes no special requirements on the factory, resulting in minimal capital investment for both facilities and equipment. This makes it particularly suitable for small fertilizer plants and fertilizer distribution enterprises, enabling both substantial profit generation and cost-effective utility.
