How to prevent material clumping during the drying process of organic fertilizer production line?
Release time:2025-10-23 Views:6 Sources:Tai an Hongxin Environmental Protection Sales Co., Ltd

To prevent material clumping during the drying process of organic fertilizer production lines, the core is to control the rhythm of moisture changes, optimize equipment and parameters, improve material characteristics, and avoid particles from aggregating into blocks due to uneven humidity, adhesion, or thermal deformation before and after drying.

From the three key stages of pre drying, during drying, and post drying, specific anti caking measures are outlined to form a full process control plan.

1、 Before drying: Avoid conditions that are prone to clumping in advance

The state of the material before drying directly affects the probability of clumping during drying, and preparation should be made from the source:

Control the initial moisture content after granulation: The initial moisture content of the material after granulation should be stable at 25% -35%, avoiding exceeding 40%. Excessive initial moisture can increase the viscosity of particles, making them prone to sticking together during drying.

Ensure particle uniformity: Remove oversized particles and fine powder after granulation through screening. The internal moisture of oversized particles is difficult to dry, and fine powder is prone to moisture absorption and clumping. When the two are mixed and dried, it will exacerbate clumping.

Add anti caking agent (optional): For highly viscous raw materials such as chicken manure and bacterial residue, a small amount of anti caking agent (such as diatomaceous earth and talc powder) can be added during granulation to reduce the surface viscosity of the particles and minimize the risk of adhesion.

2、 Drying process: precise control of drying process parameters

The drying process is the core link in preventing clumping, and parameter optimization is needed to avoid particles from becoming "too wet and sticking" or "too dry and clumping again":

Control drying temperature and speed: Adopt the "low-temperature gradual drying" mode to avoid rapid drying at high temperatures.

Optimize the contact between hot air and materials:

Real time monitoring of moisture changes: Install an online moisture meter at the outlet of the drying equipment. When the moisture content of the material drops to 25% -30% (within the standard range), discharge immediately to avoid excessive drying.

3、 After drying: promptly handle to reduce the possibility of clumping

After drying, the material has a high temperature and still has some activity, and further treatment is needed to reduce the risk of clumping:

Rapid cooling: The temperature of the dried material is usually between 60 ℃ -80 ℃, and it needs to be immediately cooled by cooling equipment (such as a cooling drum) to reduce the temperature to below 30 ℃. High temperature materials are prone to moisture absorption, which can reduce moisture adsorption when in contact with air after cooling.

Timely screening and packaging:

Reasonable storage: The storage warehouse should be kept dry, ventilated, and avoid humid environments. The height of the material pile should not exceed 3 meters to prevent the bottom particles from clumping due to excessive pressure.
