How to ferment pig manure to make organic fertilizer
Release time:2025-12-02 Views:10 Sources:Tai an Hongxin Environmental Protection Sales Co., Ltd

1. Preparation and sterilization: Prepare the manure that needs to be fermented, preferably fresh pig manure (fresh manure has better fermentation effect than old manure), such as adding 0.25 kilograms of pig manure fermentation agent to about 1 ton of fresh pig manure. First, mix the pig manure starter with rice bran (or corn flour, wheat bran) in a ratio of 1:5~10 for standby. 2. Pig manure heap construction: Spread bacteria on the prepared pig manure while building a heap. The height and volume of the heap should not be too short or too small. Requirements: The heap height should be 1.5-2 meters, width should be 2 meters, and length should not be limited. Adjust the moisture content. The moisture content of fermented pig manure should be controlled between 40-65%. Moisture assessment: Hold a handful of pig manure tightly with your hands, and if there is a water mark between your fingers but no dripping, it should disperse as soon as it falls to the ground. Low water leads to slow fermentation, high water content results in poor ventilation, and can also cause "spoilage bacteria" to work and produce odors. Therefore, it is important to control the moisture content. 4. Start temperature. The starting temperature should be above 15 ℃ (suitable for all seasons, not affected by seasons, and fermentation should be carried out indoors or in greenhouses in winter), and the fermentation temperature should be controlled below 70-75 ℃. 5. Mix well and ventilate. Pig manure fermentation agent requires good (oxygen consuming) fermentation, therefore, in the operation process, oxygen supply measures should be increased, and it is advisable to mix well, flip frequently, and ventilate. Otherwise, it will lead to anaerobic fermentation and produce a foul odor, affecting the effectiveness of fertilizers. 6. Fermentation is complete. Generally, after 48 hours of pig manure accumulation, the temperature rises to 50-60 ℃, and can reach over 65 ℃ on the third day. At this high temperature, it needs to be overturned once. In general, there will be two high temperatures above 65 ℃ during the fermentation process. Overturning twice can complete the fermentation, and it can be completed within a week normally. The material is black brown in color and the temperature begins to drop to room temperature, indicating that fermentation is complete.
