Common faults and solutions of roller extrusion granulator in organic fertilizer production line

The common faults of the roller extrusion granulator in the organic fertilizer production line are concentrated in three categories: molding effect, equipment operation, and material conveying. The core solution is to first check the material status, then adjust the equipment parameters, and inspect the mechanical components.


Forming type malfunction

Non spherical/pancake like: often caused by insufficient feeding, excessive or uneven roller gaps. Add sufficient materials, adjust the roller gap to a suitable range (usually 0.5-2mm), and polish the roller surface to make the gap uniform.

Low particle strength/easy breakage: due to insufficient extrusion pressure or improper moisture content of the material. Increase the roller pressure and adjust the moisture content of the material to the process requirements (usually 8% -15%).

Uneven particle size: It may be due to wear of the roller surface mold and inconsistent rotational speed. Replace the worn roller skin and calibrate the motor speed to ensure synchronous rotation of the two rollers.

Equipment operation related faults

Ball and socket circumferential misalignment: due to loose adjustment sleeve bolts or loose fit between roller skin and shaft. Re align the mold socket and tighten the bolts. If the fit is loose, replace the roller skin or shaft.

Equipment vibration/abnormal noise: mostly caused by loose anchor bolts, unbalanced rollers, or damaged bearings. Tighten the anchor bolts, perform dynamic balance correction on the roller, replace damaged bearings, and add lubricating oil.

Motor overload: caused by material clumping, insufficient roller clearance, or stuck transmission system. Clean up blocked materials, increase the gap between rollers, inspect transmission components such as gearboxes and couplings, and eliminate any blockages.

Material conveying faults

Non ball detachment/sticking roller: due to high moisture content of the material, rough surface of the mold cavity, or insufficient pressure. Reduce the moisture content of the material, grind the new mold cavity with grinding material, and increase the extrusion pressure appropriately.

Poor feeding: It may be due to blockage of the feeding port or malfunction of the screw feeder. Clean the blockage at the feed inlet, check the feeder motor and blades to ensure even feeding.
